Short Term Trip Items
AUTOMOTIVE – Visit the Nethercutt Museum in Sylmar Cars, furniture, musically items, Railroad cars and more. Free 2 hour Tours Tuesday thru Sat, 10am and 1:30pm – call 818-367-2251 for reservations. Huell Howser featured location.
GEOLOGY – Attend Searles Lake Gem and Mineral Society GEM-O-RAMA – For more than sixty five years, countless thousands of visitors have come to Trona (just North of Ridgecrest) during the second weekend in October for the annual Gem-O-Rama.
GHOST TOWN VISIT – Humbug, AZ. – Humbug continues to maintain its status in Arizona’s rich mining history. Much of its historic past is still being maintained. Other aspects of Humbugs history is being returned to the earth. As mentioned earlier the goal of Dave Burns is to maintain this Ghost Town, providing private public tours by appointment only. Once a year, Dave holds an Open House, making Humbug open to the public.
